Turn technical expertise into trusted business advice. We’re looking for an experienced AU Senior Tax Accountant who can deliver accurate Australian tax compliance, financial reporting, and business advisory support across a portfolio of Australian clients.

Role Overview
As an AU Senior Tax Accountant within Business Advisory, you’ll work under the direction of senior accounting leaders and Partners to prepare Australian tax returns, accounts, financial statements, compliance work, and high-quality workpapers. You’ll also support tax planning and broader advisory work while communicating directly with Australian clients.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare Tax Returns: Complete accurate Australian income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships.
Manage Tax Compliance: Prepare BAS and Activity Statements, support FBT requirements, meet monthly and quarterly deadlines, and assist with ATO correspondence.
Apply Technical Tax Knowledge: Work across Income Tax, CGT, FBT, Division 7A, entity structures, and tax-planning matters.
Prepare Financial Reports: Complete accounts, financial statements, general-ledger work, and related analysis in line with AASB, IFRS, and professional standards.
Maintain Quality Workpapers: Produce comprehensive and accurate workpapers, thoroughly check tax details, and follow established methodologies and review processes.
Support Business Advisory: Contribute to budgets, cash-flow forecasts, profit estimates, tax planning, and accounting or tax research.
Work Directly with Clients: Respond promptly to Australian client queries, document discussions, and prepare clear correspondence, draft advice, and file notes for senior review.
Skills & Experience
Around 5 years’ experience in professional services or public practice, with a strong emphasis on Australian accounting and tax.
Hands-on preparation of Australian tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships.
Strong experience in accounts preparation, financial statements, general-ledger work, and accurate workpapers.
Working knowledge of BAS/Activity Statements, Income Tax, CGT, FBT, Division 7A, ATO requirements, and Australian entity structures.
Good understanding of AASB, IFRS, general accounting principles, and their application to financial reporting.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business (Accounting), or a relevant equivalent qualification.
Actively completing or already holding CA, CPA, or an equivalent professional qualification.
Confidence using accounting and cloud-based accounting software.
Direct Australian client exposure, strong communication skills, attention to detail, accountability, teamwork, and reliable deadline management.
