Role Overview
As our Invoicing and Payroll Accountant, you'll own the end-to-end client invoicing function and manage the full payroll cycle, working closely with an Australian-based finance team. You'll also support EOM close, contribute to annual budgeting, and help drive continuous improvement across both functions.
Key Responsibilities
Nail Client Invoicing: Manage end-to-end invoicing with full accuracy and compliance, and build internal controls around revenue generation.
Own the Payroll System: Manage pay categories, rates, leave templates, and HRIS integration.
Stay Ahead of Change: Review and implement Award and Employment standard updates alongside HR.
Run Payroll Weekly: Capture travel claims, deductions, and timesheets, then calculate and finalise payroll on schedule.
Answer the Hard Questions: Field payroll enquiries on timesheets, super, tax, wages, and salary packaging.
Handle Super and Compliance: Calculate and submit superannuation, PLSL, and Workcover requirements.
Support EOM Close: Reconcile payroll accounts and provide input on revenue and payroll accruals.
Contribute Beyond the Numbers: Support annual budgeting, audits, internal controls, and mailbox upkeep.
Skills & Experience
Qualified Accountant with experience in Australian financial environments.
Strong background in payroll, accounts payable, and general ledger management.
Confident in interpreting statutory and legislative requirements.
Excellent communicator, comfortable leading and mentoring staff.
Tech-savvy with G Suite, MS Office, Xero, and quick to adopt new software.
