Work Setup: Hybrid 3x a week onsite (to be revisited upon regularisation); Angeles Pampanga or Makati City
Role Overview
As our AU Senior Accountant, you’ll support the Australian Accounting, Tax & Business Services team by preparing near-final financial statements, tax returns, BAS, IAS, and complete supporting workpapers for a diverse portfolio of Australian clients.
Working closely with the Australian team, you’ll manage assigned engagements from preparation through completion—maintaining strong technical standards, meeting deadlines, communicating progress clearly, and helping improve processes along the way.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare Accounting & Tax Work: Prepare near-final financial statements, Australian income tax returns, BAS, IAS, supporting workpapers, and Xero file adjustments where required.
Manage Jobs End to End: Complete assigned accounting and tax engagements within agreed turnaround times while maintaining accurate job status updates in workflow management systems.
Protect Quality: Review your own work thoroughly before submission, minimise errors and rework, and take ownership of assigned deliverables.
Solve Technical Issues: Research accounting and tax matters independently, use available technical resources, and escalate complex issues with well-considered recommendations.
Keep Systems Organised: Use Xero, XPM, BGL SF360, SuiteFiles, and Active Workpapers effectively while maintaining complete and accurate client documentation.
Communicate Clearly: Collaborate with the Australian team during overlapping business hours, provide timely updates, and handle limited client communication when required.
Improve the Way We Work: Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency, enhance service delivery, and continue developing your technical knowledge.
Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, or a related field.
CPA or CA qualification completed or currently pursuing is highly regarded.
4–6 years of Australian public practice accounting experience.
Strong experience preparing end-to-end financial statements and Australian tax returns.
Solid knowledge of Australian taxation, accounting standards, and ATO compliance requirements.
Advanced proficiency in Xero and experience with Xero Practice Manager.
Experience using BGL SF360, SuiteFiles, and Active Workpapers is highly desirable.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
