Role Overview
As a Senior Accountant / Tax Accountant, you’ll manage a varied portfolio of Australian clients, including SMEs, trusts, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals. You’ll prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, and compliance lodgements while mentoring junior accountants and helping clients make informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Manage Client Portfolios: Look after SME, trust, partnership, and high-net-worth individual clients with care, accuracy, and commercial awareness.
Lead a Small Team: Manage, guide, and support your own mini team to deliver high-quality work on time.
Prepare and Review Accounts: Prepare and review financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, and trusts.
Handle Compliance Lodgements: Review and lodge BAS, IAS, FBT, and GST returns accurately and on time.
Support Tax Planning: Assist with tax planning and compliance strategies that help optimise client outcomes.
Develop Junior Talent: Supervise, train, and review the work of junior accountants and graduates.
Build Client Trust: Maintain strong client relationships through timely, practical, and professional communication.
Stay Technically Current: Keep up to date with tax law, ATO guidelines, and Australian Accounting Standards.
Support Specialist Compliance: Assist with payroll tax, QBCC, FBT, and other ad hoc compliance tasks.
Contribute to Advisory Work: Support tax planning, management reporting, and other business advisory services.
Be a Reliable Client Contact: Respond to client queries and provide clear, professional support.
