Role Overview
As a Financial Accountant, you’ll support accurate month-end reporting, maintain the integrity of general ledger information, and provide practical analysis that helps business partners understand performance. You’ll work closely with senior analysts and stakeholders to meet reporting timelines, strengthen reconciliations, and improve finance processes across the group.
Key Responsibilities
Own Month-End Journals: Process month-end journals, review allocated general ledger accounts and business areas, and post accruals, prepayments, and inventory adjustments as required.
Deliver Clear Reporting: Meet reporting deadlines and provide variance analysis across actuals versus budget, with guidance from the Australian Senior Analyst.
Protect Data Integrity: Ensure information entered into the general ledger is accurate and aligned with finance policies and procedures.
Keep Reconciliations Strong: Maintain and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts each month.
Partner with the Business: Work with business partners and senior analysts to understand result drivers while providing responsive support and service.
Support Audit Readiness: Assist the Senior Analyst with audit workpapers and reconciliations that meet group external audit requirements.
Know the Reporting Model: Maintain a strong understanding of the consolidated group reporting model and Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, supporting other teams with finance-related queries.
Provide Insight Fast: Prepare ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed.
Improve Finance Processes: Identify opportunities to improve accounting and reporting processes and reduce time to complete.
Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CA or CPA qualification.
Experience in commercial accounting, management accounting, or business analysis.
Strong time management and clear English communication skills.
Analytical and solutions-focused, with excellent attention to detail.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, reporting, formulas, formatting, and data validation.
Experience processing journals, investigating variances, preparing adjustments, and reconciling general ledger accounts.
A collaborative team player with energy, initiative, and the ability to work under pressure to meet reporting timelines.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP.
Knowledge of IFRS 15 Revenue Recognition and IFRS 16 Leases.
Experience with SAP BPC reporting tools.
